Train-the-Trainer is a service that HOFMANN POWER WEIGHT has been offering since the middle of the year. By getting a training technician to provide some input, the idea is for the customer to then be able to explain the importance of balancing directly. “Even tyre experts often find it difficult to explain exactly why balancing is so important and what the differences in product quality can mean in practice. That got us thinking and showed that we needed to take urgent action” explains Thorsten Thom, chief marketing director of WEGMANN automotive.
This led to the launch of the “balance is the key” education campaign, of which the training technician forms an important part. Dealers have been able to enlist the help of the technician for training purposes since the middle of the year. All HOFMANN POWER WEIGHT asks is that you provide sufficient notice when requesting the service.
In addition to the standard training program, which explains how to install weights correctly and the effects of imbalance, the programme can be tailored to suit the needs of individual customers. A scenario could also be envisaged, whereby the service is used at customer events or in the context of test drives involving an unbalanced car.
